Line

by Gina Melillo

The picture is taken of a fire escape on an apartment building. It was taken in October. I was trying to present how interesting a picture can be with just line, depending on which direction each line is going. I like that even though it is just lines it is not as boring as I expected it to be, because some of the lines are going in different directions it makes for a more interesting photo.

Theo and I

by Gabby Gusmano

This was taken while I was walking to the barn with one of our horses, Theo, one day at the barn around the time the sun was setting. The shadow shows us together which displays the special relationship between horse and rider.

Deep in Thought

by Veronica Radyuk

This photo is a picture of my cat randomly looking out into the distance. I noticed how still he was and realized it would be a good opportunity to take a photo of him because I might not have a good chance to otherwise. I am trying to show a regular household pet in an interesting manner, inspired by the contrasting colors of his fur and the look on his face. I like the contrast of his fur and his eyes as well as the way it appears as if he is deep in emotion or thought.

Autumn Leaf

by Nancy Scerbo

This picture was taken as part of the black and white theme for our Digital Photo 2 class. I was trying to show good contrast because the leaf is light against the dark ground. I like that you can see the leaf so clearly.

Sunshine

by Dominique Melillo

This is a photo of a flower I took while outside the school with my digital class. The assignment was to get a photo of contrast so I took a picture of the light colored petals against the dark colored center. I like how the petals stand out against the dark background and the dark center.

All-Star

by C.J. Larcara
This picture was taken of a pair of converse shoes. This picture was taken to achieve the photographic element of lines in a black and white shot. I was looking for a different take on lines and I think this photo is a great illustration of lines in a unique way. It also has nice contrast between the dark top of the shoe and the light laces.

Various City Architectures

by Lily Mason

I was walking in Manhattan one day in mid October and liked how in one photo there were three different types of buildings.
